Al Kozak has been an active organic farmer for the past 30 years.  His farm grows a wide variety of vegetable, nut and fruit products, and as such he has had a keen interest in pollinators and their role in agriculture.  After three unsuccessful years of raising honey bee colonies, he has turned to Mason Bees as an alternative as a local pollinator.  Mason bees are touted to be 100 times more effective than bumble bees and 20 times more effective than honey bees at pollination.  Al’s presentation will cover an overview of Mason Bees and how to start your first colony.
