Apiary visit Sunday March 30, weather dependent
Sun, Mar 30
|Westacres farm Maple Ridge
Recently arrived packages from Tasmania have not received a warm welcome to March in Maple Ridge! We hope to be able to open two hives for an inspection. How are they doing, despite our wet and cold weather? What can we do to help them? What to do if things are amiss?

About the Event
"Open hive" meeting. Please bring your bee suit. Sunday March 30, according to the forecast, will be a day, finally, dry and just warm enough to check on bees: sunny and 12C. This meeting is for newer beekeepers, and also for those with advice to share! On Saturday, March 15, two packages of bees arrived from Tasmania and were installed in hive boxes, in quite miserable weather. All we've been able to do since then is to keep them dry and fed with Apipasta and a pollen patty. Now what? Find out on Sunday afternoon! The time of this meeting MAY shift if the forecast changes. Please RSVP and we'll keep you posted.
